It may be that I am considered an expert, but my curiosity for knowledge has not waned. I will always feel there is a gap in my continuing education plan and so, I am now enrolled in a Master of Mental Health Nursing. As part of my requirements I have developed this portfolio. My portfolio intends to demonstrate my passage of study and express the long-term engagement between my personal, professional development and the parallel growth of a new professional industry of Remedial Massage Therapy. The portfolio will include professional development of reflective self- assessment and learning experiences from hospital trained nursing and massage apprentice training to the present day

WHO I AM
It is interesting, but I realised that the deep values for my work have been a type of horizontal spirituality, as a state of being and a process towards wholeness of human existence. Family examples involved community service, environmentalism, compassion and a strong sense of ethics or values that have reflected in my workplace and work practice. My family were strong believers of 'seeking to make a difference through their actions' and therefore taught by examples for me. My mother had a strong service commitment to customers, environmental sensitivity and felt a huge commitment to community service. I worked with my Mother for 30 years and served the community through scouting (17 years), St Johns Brigade and community services. These commitments overflowed into my work commitments and dedication and obligation to clients. I have experienced increased job satisfaction and happiness when I am working.
